This application introduces integration with Tasker through AutoShare, enabling automation across a broad range of Android applications. Users can now share content via the standard Android share menu, selecting AutoShare to pass information directly to Tasker for customized handling. This function expands automation possibilities and streamlines data manipulation from multiple sources.

Once content is shared to AutoShare, it transmits the Subject, Text, or files to Tasker where users have multiple variables at their disposal, such as:

<ul>
<li>%assender – the package name of the sharing app</li>
<li>%assubject – the subject of the shared content</li>
<li>%astext – the textual content shared</li>
<li>%asfile1, %asfile2, %asfile3, etc. – file paths shared, accessible as an array named %asfile</li>
</ul>

The AutoShare command feature permits users to specify actions within Tasker based on the shared content. For example, creating a profile with a "copy" command can automatically copy %astext into the clipboard. Selecting "AutoShare Command" and choosing "copy" will then store the shared text on the device's clipboard for immediate use.

Furthermore, users can construct custom Android Share menus from within Tasker using AutoShare, customizing subjects, texts, and images to suit specific workflows. Practical applications include:

<ul>
<li>Copying shareable text directly to the clipboard for quick access.</li>
<li>Simultaneously sharing to multiple social networks by triggering AutoShare with a "social" command, prompting for user comments via Tasker, and distributing posts through AutoRemote and Zapier integrations.</li>
<li>Adding URLs to a reading list by sharing with a "readathome" command, enabling opening these links at home on your phone or computer using AutoRemote.</li>
<li>Pre-processing text—trimming or modifying it—before sharing it onward via an "alter" command.</li>
<li>Extending sharing capabilities to standalone apps by integrating sending and receiving functions.</li>
<li>Recording tasks in a to-do list by sharing related text using a "todo" command in Tasker.</li>
<li>Setting location-based sharing reminders, such as automatically sharing photos when arriving home, triggered by Wi-Fi connection profiles linked to specific AutoShare tasks.

Note that the Lite version is limited to handling only shared text fields. The full version is available for purchase within the application.
